COVID 19 and how we are operating

Due to Covid- 19 we are changing our processes to ensure minimal contact and to keep both you and our teams safe.

We ask you to send us a picture of your licence – both front and back, your DVLA check code and copy of your secondary ID prior to your hire.  We now have screens fitted in our office . Please wear a face covering when you enter our office an maintain a 2m social distance. Only two customers will be allowed in reception at anyone time.

Where possible paperwork will be generated 24 hours prior to your collection and placed in a plastic wallet alongside the keys and the checkout sheet. You will be handed  the plastic wallet and asked to remove the forms and sign the highlighted sections. We will ask you to check you are happy with the damage as marked and flag any concerns. You will then be asked to remove the bottom copy so you can keep them for your records and leave the paper work on the desk for our team to collect.

Face Masks :We ask you wear a face mask when collecting your vehicle, our staff will be asked to wear one too.

Driving Licence: We ask that you email us a copy of your licence – prior to your hire make sure you include the front and back. You will also need to bring your licence with you on the day. We will ask you to place your licence and second form of ID* on the desk and step back so our team can check them. Please note that drivers must be over 25 and have held a full driving licence for two years or more. Please ensure you hold the relevant category of the vehicle you are hiring. Drivers over 70 are subject to clearance by our insurance company.

DVLA Check Code: Alongside the copy of your driver’s licence we ask that you send us your DVLA check code prior to your hire. You will need to generate the code by visiting  you will need  your drivers licence and national insurance number.  When recording the code please note that it is case sensitive.

Secondary Proof of Address: Please send this to us prior to your hire and also bring it with you on the day. We require a second proof of address – for example a bank statement or utility bill. This should be no more than three months old. Please note we cannot accept passports as they do not contain your address.

Endorsements All endorsements are subject to acceptance from our insurance company – if you have any questions regarding endorsements on your licence please contact us.

Debit or credit card for your deposit:Payment cannot be accepted over the telephone; the card holder must be present. We do not accept American Express. The deposit is a preauthorisation, which will freeze the deposit in your account for five working days. At this moment we are card only.

Extra Drivers: If an extra driver has been agreed they will need to fill in and sign a separate insurance form again we ask you let us know prior to the hire so we can send you the forms. This will be supplied upon request. The extra driver will also need to supply the documents listed above. Unfortunately there is a small fee of £5 per day to register an extra driver.
